The City Council is comprised of a Mayor and five Aldermen. Elections are held at-large for two-year, staggered terms. Local elections are held every year, in May.
A regular monthly meeting is held the second Monday of every month at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers located at 101 West Avenue E. The official agenda is posted on the bulletin board just outside of City Hall in accordance with state law. Copies found on this website are for general information only. All meetings are open to the public and residents are encouraged to participate. Any resident with a particular concern is invited to address the Council with their concern during the "Citizens Comments" section of the meeting.

City Council meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:00 pm. Citizens that would like to be added to the City Council Agenda should fill out the form below. This request must be submitted to the City Secretary no later than noon on the Thursday prior to the City Council meeting. You may email (citysec@vmtx.us), fax (254.932.5608) or bring this form to City Hall in person. Items submitted to agenda for City Council meeting must be approved. You may only address the item as listed above and may not deviate from topic. If you have any type of handout for the council please submit it with this request. For questions about being added to the agenda, please email the City Secretary at citysec@vmtx.us.
